Dormitory Rules & Conduct Agreement for Adult Students

KISJ High School Dormitory

I acknowledge that although I am legally an adult (age 19 or older) in Korea as of January 1, 2026, I am still a KISJ high school student residing in the dormitory. Therefore, I am required to comply fully with all school and dormitory rules, procedures, and guidelines.

I further understand that although I am legally an adult, the dormitory is an educational and supervised residential environment. The school retains the authority to enforce all rules to ensure student safety, community well-being, and a positive learning environment.

Article 1. Legal Status of Adult Students & Priority of School Regulations

• I understand that certain activities legally permitted for adults (e.g., purchasing or consuming alcohol or tobacco) are strictly prohibited within the school and dormitory.
• I acknowledge that school and dormitory regulations take precedence for safety, protection, and educational purposes, regardless of my legal adult status.

Article 2. Prohibited Conduct

I understand that the following behaviors are strictly prohibited and I agree not to engage in them: 

• Alcohol consumption or possession
• Smoking or vaping or possession of any items related to smoking or vaping
• Possession, use, or distribution of illegal drugs
• Unauthorized leave or curfew violations
• Possession of dangerous or prohibited items

Notice: I understand that violations may result in removal from the dormitory, disciplinary actions, parent/guardian notification, and legal procedures, in accordance with school policy.

Article 3. Dormitory Access, Leave Procedures, and Daily Regulations

Regardless of my age, I agree to comply with the following:

• Unauthorized leave without prior approval is strictly prohibited.
• I will follow all curfew times for returning to the dormitory.
• I will comply with all check-in and check-out procedures required by dormitory staff.
• I will follow all electronic device rules and restrictions.
• I will maintain cleanliness, respect quiet hours, and follow all guidelines for shared spaces.

Article 4. Consent to Safety Checks, Belongings Inspection, and Testing

I consent to the following safety and supervision procedures for the purpose of maintaining a safe residential environment:

• Room checks and belongings inspections when deemed necessary by dormitory staff.
• Cooperation with alcohol, nicotine, or drug testing if concerns or reasonable suspicion arise.
• Use of CCTV footage for safety monitoring and incident review.

I understand that these procedures exist to protect students and the community and are not intended to infringe upon personal rights.

Article 5. Student Responsibilities and Community Obligations

I agree to uphold the following responsibilities while living in the dormitory:

• Follow all instructions and guidance from dormitory staff.
• Maintain personal and shared spaces, observe noise expectations, and respect community living guidelines.
• Avoid behaviors that negatively impact other students’ safety, learning, or well-being.
• Accept responsibility for the consequences of my actions.

Article 6. Consent to Parent/Guardian Notification & School Actions

• I agree that the school may notify my parents/guardians in cases of rule violations, safety concerns, or health-related issues.
• I will cooperate fully with any measures taken by the school for the safety and well-being of students.
• I understand that disciplinary actions will follow established school policies.

Article 7. Final Acknowledgment and Agreement

I have read and understood all sections above and acknowledge that my legal adult rights are separate from my responsibilities as a KISJ student.

I agree to comply with all dormitory rules and accept the consequences of any violations.
